👋 About Me — David Linton-Halliday
I’ve lived a life full of unexpected turns — from serving as a Navy chef to writing songs in my home in Dubbo, New South Wales. Music and storytelling have been my compass through joy, loss, and healing.
From the Sea to the Song
For fifteen years I served in the Royal Australian Navy. The discipline, travel, and camaraderie taught me more about people than any classroom could. In those years, I learned the rhythm of teamwork — the same rhythm that lives in every song I write today.
When I left the service, I carried those stories home with me — tales of resilience, laughter, and the quiet strength of ordinary people. Over time, they became songs, poems, and short stories — all grounded in the belief that words and melody can mend what life breaks.
Music, Writing & The Creative Life
My creativity found a new home in songwriting. I built a small recording studio at home, where I write, record, and explore ideas freely. The joy of making music returned — no competition, no pressure — just honest creation. My songs, stories, and upcoming podcast all share the same goal: to connect with people on a real, human level.
Living in Rural NSW
These days, life is slower but richer life . I enjoy quiet mornings, long evenings, and the company of good friends. Out here in rural New South Wales, community matters.
Healing & Reflection
Life hasn’t always been easy. Losing my mother at a young age and facing personal struggles left deep marks. Living with bipolar disorder has been a journey in itself — but music, writing, and faith in creativity helped me manage it. These experiences shape every story I tell — not with pity, but with understanding.
